Secure Data Centers

Skadoit customers have peace of mind knowing their data is secure in one or more of our highly secure SAS70 II compliant data center locations. Our primary data center in Jacksonville, Florida is housed in a former bank data center location designed to withstand a category five (5) hurricane. The building is constructed of 17 inch concrete steel walls. Each window has heavy steel mesh that can withstand 265mph projectiles. The facility is surrounded by a 10 foot blacked-out fence with barb wire top and is protected by armed guards 24/7.

Every square inch of the building and property (inside and out) is monitored by 24/7 video camera surveillance that can also be accessed by the customer from any Internet connection. The building can only be accessed via Key Card and Biometric entry at guarded checkpoints.

Once authorized technicians are in the building they are closely monitored. All servers are in secure rooms with a "trap door" allowing only the authorized technician access with no "tag alongs". In the server rooms, the server racks are locked safely away in cages. The entire facility, all networks, data, and systems are carefully monitored from the NOC (Network Operations Center) located deep within the secure facility.

In the event of a natural disaster or emergency, the facility enjoys multiple redundancy and three large diesel caterpillar generators, with 17,000 gallons of reserve fuel, capable of providing power at the same level as standard utility service. That's enough fuel for 17 days. The building houses data for government contract agencies, so the facility is considered a Tier "1" FEMA facility and is "first-in-line" with hospitals to receive fuel and supplies in the event of an emergency.

The center has a secure network backbone that is carrier neutral with access to multiple providers including; AT&T, Level3, Time Warner, Sprint, Quest and Verizon. Our entire network is constructed with Cisco from core to the edge and use of BGP routing technology ensures that the fastest path across internet connections is always utilized.

Super Secure Replication Data Center

Skadoit offers the ultimate protection of valued data by providing optional replication of data to servers at a highly secure facility located in Iowa deep underground in a cold war era "Nuclear Proof" former Air Force Command Center bunker that was purpose-built by the military to house sensitive electronic gear.

This data center offers similar security features to our Jacksonville, Florida facility, with added "survivability" features. The facility is located in naturally cooler environment 5 stories underground, and combines the best of modern commercial technology with military-grade reliability and government construction to provide the ultimate secure location. Each underground level is separated by three feet of reinforced concrete and all subterranean construction. The facility is protected from Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) with shielding to military standards. The facility was designed to withstand a 20 megaton nuclear blast from 2.5 miles, and has two three feet thick "blast doors" at the main entry point. It also boosts a six day fuel reserve, critical equipment shock proof isolated mounts, and Nuclear/Biological/Chemical ("NBC") air filtration.

Additional Locations

Skadoit also offers additional replication and access to SAS70 II compliant data centers located in Los Vegas and Los Angeles to serve our clients across the country.
